The food pantry at Feed My People South County suffers from old pipes, outdated wiring and a jumbled layout. The entire interior requires updating and upgrading to better serve God’s people.

We need your help to transform our cramped, multiroom food pantry into a modern “your choice” food shopping experience where people in need can choose healthy groceries for themselves and their families. A new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system will enhance energy efficiency and safeguard health. New lighting will brighten our service areas with cost-saving LED fixtures. The creation of public restrooms will ensure greater comfort and dignity.

WHO WE HELP

Since 1982, when Carol and John DeGuire opened Feed My People to meet growing needs in south St. Louis County, neighbors have been helping neighbors meet their daily needs.

Feed My People serves people needing short-term or long-term help:

• Single parents trying to afford food and expensive daycare fees.

• Grandparents who have stepped in to raise their grandchildren.

• Recent or long-term unemployed people trying to keep their homes, make car payments and still obtain food.

• People living on a fixed-income, forced to choose between medicine and food.

• People in crisis who need immediate help or are suffering from homelessness.

We keep our neighbors — many of them still children — from going to bed hungry. We hope you’ll consider joining us in giving your neighbors the dignity of choice with our new “your choice” food pantry.

“YOUR CHOICE” FOOD PANTRY

When our shoppers get to choose their own food, waste is reduced dramatically. This grocery-shopping experience simplifies inventory management since pantries don’t need to supply one of every item to each shopper.

Volunteer labor is redirected from filling bags and boxes to engaging with those we serve in a more meaningful and helpful way. New insights gained into what  healthy food choices are most popular helps tailor food procurement. Best of all, customers experience ultra-dignity and respect by honoring their personal food choices and needs.
